Biography

The entertainment world is about to get stung with authority by emerging music composer/sound designer Chase Bethea. With the maturity and intellect far beyond his years, Chase unleashes his raw musical palate onto the scene with mind provoking compositions and complex sound effects. The composer/sound designer harkens to musical influences such as Nobuo Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi, Hans Zimmer.

Born and raised in Chicago, his admiration for music sprang from an early age. He came from a diverse musical background; versatile in a number of categories that helped shape his young life. In junior high, he participated in choir from the 5th to the 7th grade. He was an active member of his band class, playing the alto saxophone along with composing numerous musical acts for fellow saxophone players.

Chase relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles to start his professional musical career in the entertainment industry. In high school, he developed a newfound skill: producing. Despite having limited resources at his disposal, his musical content always came out with a high and impressive production value.

In 2005, Chase interned for Take 3 Entertainment, an independent studio based in Sherman Oaks, CA. There he worked in post-production, sound engineering, sound editing and sound design. After graduating from high school with honors in June 2006, Chase immediately enrolled into the Los Angeles Recording School, where he earned a BA in Music Producing/Engineer/Sound Design in Sept. 2007.

Chase was hired immediately in August 2007 for an Internet Media Company called Vlaze Media Networks as a composer, producer, sound designer and editor. There he produced original compositions and did sound design for Motion Graphics and various media clips, (commercials, intros, webisodes, etc.) He also recorded and mixed Major/Indie bands that came in to do live performances.

Chase is currently in school, working on his AA in Music Theory & Composition. He is steadily looking for any freelance or full-time work, that implicate music compositions, sound design, audio editing or audio mixing.
